Yay! Submissions are now being accepted!

As I celebrate this year's manuscript submission window, I am absolutely elated to have a chance to support, elevate, and champion new stories for our readers. This time of year is so exciting for all of us at 1010 Publishing. I want to personally share some tips, you might want to consider as you prepare to submit your manuscript:

  • Research 1010 Publishing – Ensure your manuscript aligns with our focus on bilingual and diverse stories.

  • Polish Your Manuscript – Edit thoroughly and consider professional proofreading.

  • Submit Thoughtfully – Ensure your manuscript is well-prepared before sending.

  • Understand the Process – Familiarize yourself with our publishing model and expectations.

  • Stay Professional – Communicate respectfully and be open to feedback.

  • Believe in Your Story – Your voice matters; we value authentic, diverse narratives!

Writing a book is personal. It’s your heart, your experiences, and your creativity poured onto the page. I know what it feels like to take that leap—to submit your work, wondering if it will resonate with the right publisher. Here’s some personal advice to keep in mind.

1. Your Story Matters

Whether it’s bilingual, multicultural, or simply a fresh perspective, your voice is unique. We need more diverse stories, and if you don’t tell yours, who will?

2. Rejection is Not the End

I’ve seen amazing manuscripts get rejected—not because they weren’t good, but because they weren’t the right fit. Every "no" is just a step toward the right "yes." Keep refining, keep submitting, and don’t let rejection define your worth as a writer.

3. Follow the Guidelines (Seriously!)

I can’t stress this enough—submission guidelines exist for a reason. A well-prepared manuscript shows professionalism and respect for the publisher’s process. At 1010 Publishing, we’re looking for books that fit our mission, so take the time to ensure yours aligns.

4. Invest in Your Craft

Editing, feedback, and revisions are not optional. A great story can get lost in poor formatting or weak editing. Seek professional help if needed—your manuscript deserves it.

5. Build Relationships, Not Just Submissions

Engage with the publishing community. Attend events, connect with other writers, and follow publishers you admire. 1010 Publishing values authors who are invested in the literary world, not just in getting published.

6. Be Open to Growth

If a publisher provides feedback, take it as a gift. Growth is part of the journey. Some of the best books didn’t start perfect—they became great through revision and persistence.

7. Keep the Passion Alive

Writing is more than just getting published. It’s about sharing stories that matter. Keep writing, keep dreaming, and never forget why you started in the first place.

At 1010 Publishing, we love championing new voices. If you’re ready to submit, do it with confidence! And if you're still working on your manuscript, know that your story is worth telling. I want to personally congratulate you for this momentous step in your writing career.

Happy writing!
